Project description

Stella for all shows two children in front of a picture in a museum. This photograph from a family album was enlarged to the size of a construction-site billboard and published on such a board at the centrally located market place. This square is striking for its chaotic (non-) use as well as for a picturesque view of Gothic house façades and the rocky face of the Nordkette on the other side of the Inn. It is a place that has not yet fallen prey to designer, consumer-oriented, and market economy “improvements”. If the Museum of Contemporary Art that has been under consideration for some time now is ever built, this would seem like an appropriate location – but that will probably take time.

Advertising for art, reducing inhibitions, looking at children who are looking at art; without fear, by means of an “artistic intervention” – literally, art in public space. Stella for all is an open call, perhaps a moment of irritation, certainly a plea for art.
